We present these pages to offer some well-deserved recognition for the wonderful people who have given their ideas, sweat, and time to the Marshalltown Community Theatre.  Without their efforts, our theatre would be little more than a dark room.  We celebrate your generous gift to our community!

If you have participated in an MCT production in the past, in any capacity, please take your bow with the folks on these pages.  Contact the MCT Technical Director to arrange to be included.

Jan BEALS
Tampa, FL
Jan was active in the Marshalltown Community Theatre since “volunteering” in 1994 until she left for Florida in 2003.  She joined the Board in 1996, in charge of Properties, and after serving her term, transferred to Lights and Sound.  Jan was very active in children’s theatre in Albuquerque NM, volunteering with two local theatre groups and a couple of dance studios, helping with plays and recitals. She has only been on stage once and if you missed it, you will never get the chance again. Jan said she will never do that again, preferring backstage to on-stage.  She and her husband, Jim, now reside in Tampa, Florida.  We miss her.

Jim BEALS
Tampa, FL
Jim was active in the Community Theatre from the time he arrived in Marshalltown in 1994 until his move to Florida in 2003.  He began with Lights and Sound and until his job transferred him and his family to Tampa, Florida,  continued in that capacity.  In June 2002, Jim added Web Manager to his duties, helping establish and maintain MCT's website.  He also assisted with writing and formatting Curtain Call, the MCT newsletter and the programs for each show.  Jim and a crew of volunteers were instrumental in getting the new lighting and sound systems designed and installed.  He even found time to perform in a couple of shows, including the role of a dog in PLAYING DOCTOR.  In addition to all that, Jim is apparently a little camera shy.

Linda BORSCH
Marshalltown, IA
Linda made her first stage appearance in early 1970 when MCT presented FORTY CARATS.  At the last minute the director asked Linda to stand in for one of the cast members.  It was a small role, but she was hooked.  Linda had theatre experience before that, working on costumes and props.  Since she was hooked, Linda auditioned for HARVEY but didn't perform again until MCT's 2003 production of THE WOMEN due to personal and work commitments.

Patricia BOWMAN
Ferguson, IA
Because she has a real fondness for the theatre, Patricia decided to audition for a part in the 2007 MCT Summer Musical COMPANY and landed the role of Susan.  Though she had never actually been 'on' the stage before, she has worked behind it in various capacities, being the hair, costume, and prop director for previous productions at East Marshall High School.  Some of Patricia's favorite activities include painting, singing, listening to music, and softball.
