DOUBT: A PARABLE HAS JUST CLOSED!

Pete Grady and cast have closed the final play of our 2007 - 2008 season, DOUBT: A PARABLE by John Patrick Shanley.  Set in 1964 at a Catholic school in the Bronx, DOUBT: A PARABLE was the story of a strong minded nun faced with a difficult decision.  Should she voice concerns as she grows suspicious of a priest when he begins taking too much interest in the life of a young male student, even though she is not entirely certain of the truth?  Is she being overly protective or not protective enough?  Is he actually guilty of any terrible misdeeds? This Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning drama was originally scheduled to be directed by MCT icon, Sandy Schlesinger, but after his recent death, Mr. Grady has very ably stepped into the director's role.  The cast included a few new talents to the MCT stage and one veteran actress, and as the director said, "These people are good!"  Arlene McAtee played Sister Aloysius while Sister James was portrayed by Claire Winkleblack. Valencia McCown was cast in the role of Mrs. Muller.  The only male role in the show, that of Father Flynn, was played by Tony Pherigo.  Play dates were April 18, 19, 25, and 26, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. with an April 20, 2008 matinee at 2:00 p.m.  We hope you attended this amazing show and we thank you if you did.
